Models Own - Nail Polish Review

I will be reviewing my experience on the Models Own website, the packaging, postage time, and the products. This post will also have swatches of the Topshop trio of polishes I bought in this post

The parcel came in a white jiffy bag

Inside was an invoice, a small Heat Summer Style magazine
and what I bought nicely wrapped in bubble wrap

Inside the bubble wrap, the polishes were again wrapped in more bubble wrap! Super safe and secure.
They had an offer on which was buy 3 polishes and save £3...The postage cost is 2.95 so essentially you're saving 5p. I opted to buy these online as the glitters are often unavailable in the Boots in my city. They also had an offer where you can get a free black Kohl pencil if you spent over a certain amount.

Polishes cost £5 each, Pencil costs £5

Review: Ciali in Kawaiiland

Hello

Ciali in Kawaiiland are a pretty new company. It's run by Ciali who was once part of the famous and fabulous CuteCanKill. They've now gone on separate adventures. I am glad that they are both still making jewellery.

Shop: http://www.kawaiiland.net/
Blog: http://www.ciali.kawaiiland.net/
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CialiKawaiiland

Ciali has been regularly updating her webshop / Facebook with so much unique stuff. She is constantly coming up with cute products and listening to her customers about what they want to see.

I received this a few months ago so I don't remember too much about the buying part. It was done over Facebook before she had a shop, I told her what I wanted and she messaged me with details etc. I paid using Paypal and chose registered shipping. If I remember the parcel arrived pretty quickly.

The parcel came in a jiffy bag, and came inside a cute polkadot paper bag. Inside was all the pieces I ordered and they all had there own little cello-bags. and Ciali in Kawaiiland sheets in each one! I also received a little note and a bunny phone charm inside a handmade paper pouch! I absolutely love when people make a real effort with there packaging and products. Having bought items from CCK, I knew the quality would be good. I was happy that when I got my items they we're just as expected, if not better. The workmanship is so professional. Most of it is made from polymer clay, and I know from experience how hard it is to keep everything dust free. These items are free from fingerprints, dust, hairs or an other imperfections.

Note and gift pouch

Free bunny phone charm! So cute.

Star Music Ring, I absolutely love this, such beautiful colours. The ring blank was bent when I got it, but I entirely blame the post office for this as everything was wrapped really securely. I did mention it to her and recommend sending them in boxes instead.

The only things I will say is that one of the earrings fell apart when I wore it, but this was easily fixed. It was just a loose jump ring.
Also be wary of light clay and dark surfaces. I have experienced some black dye from my clothes rubbing off onto the back of my gamepad necklace. This is no one fault though, it happens!

The items are priced really well. I would say they are very good value. It counters in the fact that they're all handmade and unique but without over charging. I like that everything comes in it's own little bag and that she included a free gift. She is such a lovely girl. She is really friendly and helpful, I can't wait to buy more from her!

4.9 / 5
(the .1 for the earring breaking!)

Payday Purchases (22-6-12) / Post

Hello

Due to Natwests' epic
failure I only actually spent £13, which was in topshop.
I got two things in the post on saturday (as I am posting this on sunday)

When my pay finally arrived in my bank account late friday night I managed to spent £50 online by 3am, which led me to my spending ban, but I will do reviews/hauls once those items arrive.

I have a Models Own review coming after this post, I will be reviewing the online shop, the service and the products.
Topshop Products
(all items we're in the sale!)

I've wanted these socks for ages as they are just fricking adorable. The anchor earrings I have in mint, but the pink ones we're half price on sale! The other earrings just looked fun!

Bunny Socks (£2.00) Anchor Earrings (£2.00) Triangle Earrings (£3.25)

This set was reduced from £13, I've gotten quite into topshop polishes as they come is such wonderful colours, I mainly got this for the pink polish but I don't own a silver polish and I had never tried crackle polish before. I will have swatches on these in my next post.

Nail Polish Trio (£6.00)

Polish Close Ups
L-R: Starlight, Chaos Theory, Peeping Tom

and in the post came this baby! I have always suffered from peeling, chipped nails. Even from the get go. I paint my nails and SOMETHING always goes wrong within 10 minutes and they always end up ruined, because of this I pretty much stopped bothering with my nails for a long time.
My friend Ali suggested I invested in the Seche Vite topcoat, I knew that high price products usually work wonders but I am always hesitant, but as I had started really putting effort into my nails I wanted them to stay put. She pointed me in the right direction to get it for the best price, I found it on amazon for £7.95 with free postage. I've used it once...and oh man. I will never go back. It dries so fast, doesn;t smudge the polish I put it on and it's beautiful, it's been about 6 hours since I painted my nails and they're still perfect (for me, this is incredible) my nails look so nice! I have work tonight so I will be putting it to the real test then!

  Seche Vite Top Coat (£7.95)

Things I Make: May / June

As some of you know I make jewellery, which I sell online and in a few shops.
I've gotten really lazy with it recently which makes me sad because It's my favourite thing to do.
I am hoping I can get my act together and list some new items on my etsy shop soon, I also want to list some old stock at a heavily discounted price! I'll let you know when that happens, until then check out my newest items!

If you're interested in anything just comment for prices / reservation info :)

SPENDING BAN

I have issues, literally think I do.

I was paid today, but Natwest messed up so I couldn't check my balance / pay. So I managed to still spend £13 in Topshop....then I came home, went to work from 3pm - 10pm and it's now 3am and I've just spent £20 on F21 and £28 on Boohoo.
(this isnt including the t-shirt I brought on thursday, oh and the makeup...)

SO. From now until Friday I will not spend anything...
Lets see If I can do this...as I literally have no will power!
But since I've posted this to the world I feel I HAVE to comply!

Wish me luck.

Sneaky Haul

You now when you just pop into town or to a shop to get something and end up in a few more shops or buying a few more things? That is the story of my life. I like to buy things. No wait, that's a lie. I love to buy things, I am obsessed. It's a habit I can't break, but hey if I'm working and earning why bother stopping?

Here's what I got:

I was just rushing past a charity shop when this bag caught my eye, I ran into the shop to claim it. She was telling me how much everyone loved it and that it has just been put out. I needed it...but then I found out they didn't take card and the lovely lady working she would hold it for me overnight. So I left on my way to boots....but hey when you want it you want it now! So with 5 minutes before closing time I rushed to a cash machine, grabbed a tenner and rushed back! So this baby is mine for the bargain price of £3.75. It's probably not to everyones taste but it's actually my dream bag. Big (it's a good sized shoulder bag, lots of room!) PURPLE!, metallic, quilted and heart shaped! It's perfect for hanging my enormous purple tail on too! Which I got from  Starlight Deco Dream
</Ramble over>

I then headed over to boots to pick up a few bits, there were so many offers!

Models Own Nail Art Pen in White (£6.00) Models Own Nail Polish in Purple Blue Beetle Juice (£5.00) Miss Sporty Polish In Pop Fiction (£1.99) Miss Sporty Nail Polish in Paparazzi (£1.99)

Here's a close up of the Models Own Polish, It's hard to convey in a photograph because it's one that changes colour in different angles. But it's like a galaxy in a bottle! It's gorgeous. It would make a really good base for galaxy/cosmic inspired nails!

Natural Collection are a line that I would of grab a few bits from when I was in my early teens, I then discovered Mac and ran away from all that. Over the past years I've been going back to cheaper brands because they're often producing good products at good prices. I've been seeing Nat Coll a lot recently in YT vids and blogs and they seem to be getting good reviews. I especially wanted some lipsticks that were usable daily but we're cheap and wearable.

Barry M Kohl Pencil in White (£1.99) Natural Collection Concealer in Fair (£1.99) Natural Collection Lipstick in Biscuit (£1.99) Natural Collection Lipstick in Pink Mallow (£1.99)

Close Ups
Left to right: Biscuit and Pink Mallow

Offers:
Buy 1 get the 2nd half price - Models Own
3 for 2 - Natural Collection (Although I think the offer is on multiple brands)
2 for £3 - Miss Sporty Nail Polish

Total with Offers: £21.22

Payday Purchases (15-6-2012)

A bit late posting this as I was working!
I thought I was start posting little "hauls". I get paid weekly on a friday and I tend to have great trouble not spending it the same day. I tried to spend as little as possible this week as I'm saving for Cambridge / London :D

Enjoy <3

I popped intro River Island and got some of there cute little studs, I also picked up these adorable minty anchor earrings in Topshop

Leopard Print Heart Studs (£1.50) / Silver Cross Studs (£1.50)
Minty Anchor Earrings (£4.00)

I couldn't resist this, I've been trying to find the right lavender/lilac polish for a while and I do kind of love the packaging.

Topshop Nail Polish in Parma Violet (£5.00)

I then toddled over to H&M, I didn't find much as I don't usually like the jewellery at H&M.
They had some bits on offer (Buy one get one free) and I really wanted the heart studs, I didn't actually want anything else but it was free so I grabbed the bow necklace. The chain is monster long though so I might shorten that! I also got a hair band that has a metal studded hoop to cover the band! Looks fun.

Hair Band with Stud-Style Hoop (£3.99) Bow Necklace (£3.99) Heart Studs (£2.99) (These we're free)

Then I caved and thought I'd give the Fashionista Mix and Match palette a go! They had an offer where you could get 4 shadows / blushes and an empty palette for £10. If you bought they all separately if would cost £21! I thought I would give them a go as they all seem very pigmented and had really nice colours.

I got one of each palette colour

I chose two blush shades, two shades for highlighting and 4 eyeshadows.
Colours from left to right (e) = eyeshadow, (b) = blush
First Row: Sweet Kiss (e), Flush (b), Clear Sky (e), Amorous (e)
Second Row: Cafe Au Lait (e), Rose Thrill (b), Envy (e) Golden Glow (e)

Annnnnd then I just stocked up on some store cupboard food, Sushi Rice, Noodles and Seaweed :)

Total: £40 + about £5 for the food

Thanks for reading!
